Clinical PhaseOnce students have successfully completed the didactic phase they begin clinical rotations. In this phase of their education, students must complete seven required and five elective rotations. On each rotation, students work with resident or attending physicians and graduate physician assistants to learn aspects of clinical medicine and surgery. They are expected to take advantage of all rounds, conferences, and clinics offered by the service on which they are rotating. Students are certified in Basic Life Support prior to clinical rotations. An opportunity for Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support is also provided prior to graduation. Required Rotations
Selected Elective RotationsStudents may choose from many areas of medicine and surgery for their4 elective rotations. While a number of the electives are offered at Yale-New Haven Hospital, others are in private practices, HMO's, or community hospitals in Connecticut and other states.
